I've spent over six years researching residential water treatment systems, from whole-house filtration setups to point-of-use filters and tankless heaters. I built The Water Nerd to give homeowners the same level of product analysis that professionals rely on, without the jargon or sales pressure.
I've been down the water quality rabbit hole for years now, testing everything from cheap pitcher filters to commercial RO systems that cost more than my first car. The Water Nerd started because I kept running into the same problem: most "reviews" online are just rewritten Amazon listings. So I built a site where I could share what I actually found. Over 200 products reviewed across filters, heaters, softeners, and bottles, all measured against NSF/ANSI standards and EPA data.
For every product, I cross-check certifications (NSF 42, 53, 58, 401), look for third-party lab results when they're available, and track what real buyers are saying six months after purchase, not just on day one. I also keep EPA and WHO drinking water guidelines on hand to make sure our picks meet actual health and safety thresholds, not just marketing claims.
